Guided Meditation
Meditation is an exercise that can give you a sense of calm, peace and balance that can benefit both your emotional well-being and your overall health. You can also use it to relax and cope with stress by refocusing your attention on something calming. Meditation can help you learn to stay centered and keep inner peace.
During meditation, you focus your attention and eliminate the stream of jumbled thoughts that may be crowding your mind and causing stress. This process may result in enhanced physical and emotional well-being.
Aroma Therapy
Aromatherapy is the practice of using essential oils for therapeutic benefit.
When inhaled, the scent molecules in essential oils travel from the olfactory nerves directly to the brain and especially impact the amygdala, the emotional center of the brain. Each oil has its own list of benefits. Some used in our office include…
1. Lavender oil: Many people find the lavender scent relaxing. It's often used to help relieve stress and anxiety and promote good sleep.
2. Peppermint oil: Helps decrease stress and tension. Helps helps with tension headaches and improve digestion
3. Lemon oil: Many people find the citrusy scent of lemon oil a mood booster.
4. Eucalyptus: Improves clear breathing and promotes relaxation.
5. Tea Tree: Helps with blemishes (seen on the skin and on the back), and can help with seasonal illnesses.
Most people take short, shallow breaths into their chest. It can make you feel anxious, tired, physically and emotionally drained. It can also lead to panic/anxiety attacks and hyperventilating.
